homemade pizza

The first thing I think of when I hear pizza is either Mellow Mushroom, OR the theme song from the Spongebob episode.... Krusty Krab pizza is the pizza for YOU and ME. If you watched that show as a child or are as weird as I am, then you know exactly what I am talking about!

Anyways --- pizza is one of my all-time favorite things and cravings throughout a busy week. I usually shoot for places with a gluten-free crust when I am wanting to get out, or grab an Amy's Kitchen pizza when I want to stay in but still want to avoid the hassle of cooking.

BUT when I am in the mood for a fresh and homemade pizza, this is my go-to recipe!

There are SO many different things you can put on your pizza, so below is a list of a variety of options, but not all were used in this recipe! It's all gauged from personal preference with what you want on it.

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 35 minutes

Serving Size: 1 pizza

Ingredients:

  • 1 cauliflower crust or sprouted tortilla -- I usually use either the one from Sprouts or Trader Joes or buy the Ezekiel brand in the frozen section of the grocery store for a sprouted tortilla!

  • organic pasta sauce (watch the sugar content!!)

  • tomato

  • bell pepper

  • mushrooms

  • broccoli

  • cauliflower

  • bacon

  • cilantro

  • garlic

  • vegan Daiya cheese or raw cheddar cheese (from Sprouts)

  • greens (kale, spinach, arugula)

  • organic grilled chicken

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees

  • Take the tortilla or crust (thaw it out if it's frozen) and completely cover with the pasta sauce

  • Using any ingredients above that you choose, place on top of the pizza evenly throughout

  • When completed, place the pizza straight onto the oven rack and cook for about 20 minutes, or until golden brown on the outsides

  • Let it cool for 2-3 minutes before eating

  • Enjoy!!!

xoxo,

Kell
