Let's be honest.... don't these just sound amazing!? I don't think that you have ever tasted something so good until you indulge in these! Just wait. They are best as an appetizer for a meal, or even as a side dish to bring to a tailgate, a friend's party, or even a wine night! They're the perfect combination of sweet and salty that I guarantee you that you will find yourself struggling to just eat one. (Or seven....definitely what I do). #noshame
Okay, I'm done rambling on about them -- I'm just going to share the recipe with you and let you try them for yourself! And the best news of all!? They only take a few minutes to prepare and only about 20 minutes in the oven!
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20-25 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes
Serving Size: 12-15 dates
Ingredients:
goat cheese (preferably organic!)
1 package of nitrite/nitrate free bacon
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Take the dates, and using a knife, slice a slit in them length-wise (just try not to cut them entirely into two halves)
Using a butter knife, put a small dab of the goat cheese in the slit from the date, and close the date back together
Cut the bacon strips in half, and slowly wrap around the dates until both ends of the bacon touch, and toothpick them together.
Continue until you have finished wrapping all dates.
Put the dates on a slightly greased pan, and put into the oven for about 12 minutes.
Once 12 minutes is over, flip the date to the other side and continue to cook them until the bacon is a gold-brown color (should be about 8-10 more minutes!)
Remove, and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy!!!
