Happy Hump Day friends!!!
These are such a delectable dessert, as well as something easy to make for a group or a large party. Everyone loves strawberries and chocolate...so they're even more amazing put together!
And yes, this isn't really a "recipe" per-say since it's pretty much a no-brainer to do, BUT I've tried to throw in some extra content here that might be helpful! Plus, now you have it archived and can always refer back if you need ideas.
Prep Time: 10 minutes Refrigerator Time: 2 hours
Overall Time: About 2hrs 10 min
Ingredients:
1 carton of fresh, organic strawberries (just trust me, they taste WAY better)
1 Eating Evolved or Alter Eco chocolate bar (at least 70% or higher)
The higher the percentage simply means that the chocolate is higher in antioxidants and contains the least amount of added sugars -- definitely a good thing!!!!
1 tbsp of coconut oil
1 tsp chia seeds
Directions:
Wash off all the strawberries (even if organic, always a good precaution)
Take a few chunks of chocolate, throw into a bowl, and add in the chia seeds (a little added superfood!) and coconut oil (helps the chocolate to melt more seamlessly)
Throw the bowl in the microwave to melt, only about 30 secs at a time, or even melt via a non-stick pan on the stovetop
Simply mix and repeat until fully melted
Slowly dip the strawberries into the chocolate, leaving the top part uncovered
Place dipped strawberries on a large cooking sheet covered in wax or parchment paper
When all strawberries have been assorted on the pan, place into the refrigerator until firm (usually about 2 hours). Don't place in the freezer! If you freeze them, they will get frozen stiff and when they thaw back out they will become mushy.
Enjoy!!
Xoxo,
